Today I visited Seishohama Beach of Lake Inawashiro in the outskirts of Koriyama. This has been one of the major flocking locations of migratory swans from Siberia every year. It was cloudy today but the swans were swimming or playing on the beach as shown in the picture above. In this picture alone swan count is about 40. There were some other groups nearby making the total count more than 100.
本日は、郡山市郊外の猪苗代湖の青松浜に行きました。毎年シベリアからの白鳥が渡ってくる猪苗代湖有数の飛来地です。今日は曇り空でしたが、白鳥達は写真の通り元気に泳いだりしていました。写っているだけで40羽ほどいますが、周囲には他のグループも合わせ100羽以上いました。

On the way back I noticed near the beach a stone monument with a couple of lanterns for Mount Iide as shown above, which is located far away in Kitakata region. This may be because the mountain can be seen from here on a clear day.
戻り道、浜のすぐ近くで写真の飯豊山の碑と石灯籠がありました。飯豊山は遥か遠く喜多方地方ですが、天気の良い日には見えるのだろうと思います。

If it were a clear day, I could have seen beautiful contrast of surrounding mountains and a blue sky as an example picture shown above which I took in March 2014. .
今日も晴れていれば、周囲の山々と青空のコントラストが美しい光景が見えたと思います。参考に、写真は2014年3月のときのものです。
The location of Seishohama beach is at the southern edge of Lake Inawashiro. It is within Konanmachi district of Koriyama City. The public transportation to get there is to use a local Aizu Bus from JR Joko Station. From “Fukurafurumachi” bus stop you need 3km walk to the beach.
青松浜は、猪苗代湖の南岸にあり郡山市の湖南町に含まれます。公共交通は、JR上戸駅から会津バスの路線バスに乗り福良古町で降り3kmほど歩きます。
