（Lilium rubellum on Mt. Asakusadake, Tadami Town, June 27, 2016, 浅草岳 山頂の ヒメサユリ 只見町 2016/6/27）
Photo above shows beautiful flowers of Lilium rubellum or Himesayuri in Japanese grown naturally on the summit area of Mt. Asakusadake. The plant is an endangered one which grows only in limited habitats in Fukushima and adjacent prefectures.
写真は、浅草岳の頂上エリアに自生する、ヒメサユリです。ヒメサユリは、福島県とその周辺のみに自生する、絶滅危惧種です。


Mt. Asakusadake (1585m) is located on the border of Fukushima Pref. and Niigata Pref. One of the entrances of the trail is located along National Route 252 beside Lake Tagokura as shown above. I rented a motor-assisted bicycle at Tadami Station and pedaled from a private inn I stayed the night before to the entrance point.
浅草岳（１５８５ｍ）は、福島県と新潟県の境に位置し、登山口の１つは、福島県只見町の国道２５２号の田子倉湖の近くにあります。ＪＲ只見駅で、電動アシスト自転車を借りて（１日５００円）、前泊した宿から登山口まで（１０ｋｍ余り）走りました。（写真）


Although the mountain is medium in its height, the trail was difficult to track for me. The trail path was so narrow it was scary for acrophobic person. Steep climbing continued and there were rock traversal, rock climbing, and crossing streams. It took me ten hours round trip. But I could experience splendid mountain scenery such as shown above.
浅草岳は、高さは中位ですが、登山道は、私にとっては困難でした。道幅は狭く、高所恐怖症にとっては、とっても怖い。急登が続き、岩壁の横切りや、ロッククライム、沢渡りなど危険が一杯。恐る恐る、往復に１０時間かかりました。しかし、山の景色は、写真のように素晴らしいものがありました。（初心者には、お勧めしません。と初心者が言います。）


Approaching the summit, I encountered the first pretty flowers of Lilium rubellum as shown above. The habitat of this plant is limited to the area close to the top of the mountain.
頂上に近づくと、ヒメサユリが現れました。（写真）　自生地は、頂上付近に集中しています。


I finally got to the top as shown above with the third class triangulation point.
写真は、頂上です。三等三角点があります。

From the top, I could overlook Lake Tagokura as shown above.
頂上からは、写真のように、田子倉湖が見下ろせます。

On the summit plain, flowers of Lilium rubellum were in full bloom as shown in the pictures above.
山頂の平原には、ヒメサユリが、写真のように満開でした。

Picture above shows some of the stilted structures for rituals in late Jomon Period some 2300 years ago. These are discovered and recovered at Jomopia Miyahata Site in Fukushima City. The site is designated as a National Historic Site. (The visit here was with members of Omotenashi Guide Fukushima, which is a group of interpreter guide for Fukushima Pref.)
写真は、縄文時代晩期、約２３００年前の、儀式用の掘立柱建物群です。じょーもぴあ宮畑サイトで発見され、復元されたものです。じょーもぴあ宮畑は、国の史跡に指定されています。（今回、おもてなし福島通訳ガイドの会のメンバーとして、訪問しました。）


Picture above shows a pit dwelling which is considered to be used in middle Jomon Period some 4000 years ago. The structure was recovered based on remains of the ground excavated at the site.
写真は、縄文時代中期、約４０００年前の、竪穴住居です。サイトで発掘された遺跡を元に、復元されたものです。


Picture above shows the inside of the pit dwelling structure. About 4-5 people of a family are considered to have lived here.
写真は、竪穴住居の、内部の写真です。家族４－５人が、暮らしていたと考えられています。


At the Learning Center facility, there are some exhibits showing how people lived in the Jomon Period. Photo above shows a display of inside the pit dwelling.
体験学習施設では、縄文人の暮らしに関する展示が、されています。写真は、竪穴住居の内部の、暮らしの様子です。


There was another type of structure for dwelling or for performing rituals. It is called stone structure and the photo above shows a recovered one based on remains found at the site.
もう一つの、住居または儀式用の建物の跡も、あります。敷石住居と呼びます。写真は、ここで発見された遺跡を元に、復元されたものです。


Some other artifacts are found at the site and they are exhibited in the Learning Center facility as shown above.
遺跡では、土器なども出土されています。写真は、体験学習施設に、展示されているものです。

Photo above shows red type of Enkianthus campanulatus or Benisarasa-Dodan in Japanese, many of which were found along Mt. Tashiro trail today. They were in full bloom.
上の写真は、田代山登山道にたくさんある、ベニサラサドウダン（紅更紗満天星）です。満開でした。


On the ground along the trail, I could see a number of Cornus canadense or Gozentachibana in Japanese as shown above.
登山道の地面には、写真のゴゼンタチバナ（御前橘）が本当にたくさんありました。






I walked along the trail to Mt. Tashiro which belongs to Oze National Park. Pictures above show views of the starting point, the trail, and the summit of the mountain which is 1926m above sea level. It was a little rainy and foggy day up on the mountain but no wind. I took a shuttle taxi service operated by the town (Minamiyama Kanko) between Yunohana Onsen and the starting point of the trail which was about 15km apart. The fare was 2,000-yen one way.
本日は、尾瀬国立公園になっている、南会津町の田代山（１９２６ｍ）に行きました。写真は、登山口、登山道、そして山頂です。山の上は、小雨と濃霧でしたが、無風でした。前泊した湯ノ花温泉と登山口の間（１５ｋｍ、砂利道が多い）は、町が運営するシャトルタクシーを利用しました。片道２，０００円です。（お得！）

Along the trail, I could see some other plants and flowers as shown below.
登山道には、次のように、他の植物も見られました。


I found a small group of monotropastrum humile or Ginryoso in Japanese as shown above.
立派なギンリョウソウ（銀竜草）です。


I found some of flower trees called Menziesia multiflora or Urajiro-yoraku in Japanese as shown above.
ウラジロヨウラク（裏白瓔珞）も、ありました。

On the summit of the mountain, there was a large marsh plain. Some alpine flowers I found there are shown below.
田代山の山頂には、広大な湿原があります。いくつかの高山植物が見られました。


Photo above shows a kind of Gentiana called Tateyama-Rindo in Japanese. Many of them were found there.
写真は、タテヤマリンドウ（立山竜胆）です。たくさんありました。


Photo above shows Andromeda polifolia or Himeshakunage in Japanese. Many of them were found there.
ヒメシャクナゲ（姫石楠花）です。これも、たくさんありました。


Photo above shows flowers of Eriophorum vaginatum or Watasuge in Japanese.
ワタスゲ（綿菅）です。


Photo above shows flowers of avens or Chinguruma in Japanese. The plain was a large habitat of the plant, but most flowers were already gone, and these were the only left.
チングルマ（稚児車）です。この湿原は、広大なチングルマの生育地ですが、既に花は終わり、これしか残っていませんでした。


I left the marsh plain of Mt. Tashiro and walked along the trail toward Mt. Taishaku for a short while. Once I entered into the trail, I found plants called Pteridophyllum racemosum or Osabagusa in Japanese scattered in the wood.
田代山湿原をあとにし、帝釈山のほうに、少し歩いていきました。すぐに、写真のオサバグサ（筬葉草）があちこちに見られます。
