I returned Back to Yamatsuri Town from Koriyama City today. The route was referred to the GPS logged map shown below.

The route was first National Route 4, followed by Pref. Route 44 from Yabuki Town, and then through the Tanakura Tunnel of R118 , finally Pref. Kujigawa Cycling Road to Yamatsuri Town. Tanakura Tunnel had side road for bike and pedestrian as shown in the picture above, which made it safe for pedaling. The cycling road always gave me safe and fast bike trip of 22km between Tanakura and Yamatsuri Town. Grateful to Fukushima Pref.

Today I stayed at "Yupal Yamatsuri" Lodge shown in the picture above. It had relaxing hot spring bath.
I returned Back to Koriyama City today. The route was R4. Since Fukushima City lied in the basin, there was a long lasting ascend pedaling out of southern area of Fukushima City. GPS logged map was shown below.

I stopped for some rest at the Road Station "Adachi", which was located in Adachi area of Nihonmatsu City. The first picture explains the "Adachi", and the second picture shows special shop for traditional Japanese paper from Nihonmatsu City.
Just after entering Koriyama City, where the R4 was divided to main and bypass, rear tire of my bike became flat. I moved to under a tree and changed the flat tube to spare tube, pumped the air, checked the pressure, and restarted. Today, I stayed again at Gekkou Onsen Kurheim the same as August 20. This lodge was reliable and reasonable for bike tourists as a relay stay.
【2012年8月25日】 土湯温泉 、 こけし湯 ( Aug. 25, 2012: Day trip to Tsuchiyu Onsen )
Today was a reserve day, but the weather being kept nice, I decided to make a day trip to Tsuchiyu Onsen. The route from Fukushima Station area was Route 115 only. It was 33km round trip, and the elevation was 565m; however the climb was somewhat easier than the Takayu case. GPS logged map is shown below.

There was a hot spring bath for day use called "Kokeshiyu", which meant hot spring named after the famous wooden doll of Tuchiyu district. Characteristic of "Kokeshiyu" was simple spring, and it was very hot of 46 degrees Celsius when I bathed first, and then local people came in and added some water to 43 degrees. They were doing some other recreational activities such as shown in the pictures.
