（# Futaba Dharma Market, Iwaki, Jan. 8, 2022. #双葉ダルマ市 いわき 1/8/2022）
Today I visited Futaba Dharma Market in Iwaki. The market has a long history of 300 years since the Edo period. The town of Futaba has been evacuated right after Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant accident in March, 2011. People of Futaba continued the traditional market at their sheltering place: Iwaki. Because the town is expecting the lifting of evacuation order in June this year, the next year’s event will be held at their hometown. A photo above was a gigantic Dharma doll appeared at the venue.
本日は、いわき市で行われた双葉ダルマ市に行きました。このダルマ市は、江戸時代から300年の歴史があります。双葉町は2011年3月の原発事故直後から、全村避難が続いています。双葉町民は、避難先のいわきでダルマ市を続けてきました。町は今年6月に避難解除を予定していて、来年のダルマ市は元の双葉町での予定です。写真は、会場に現れた巨大双葉ダルマです。

Tug-of-war event was held with this gigantic Dharma placed in the center and local people divided into east and west groups competed telling the new year’s harvest and businesses according to the results.
この巨大ダルマを中心に、綱引きが行われました。町民が東西に分かれ、綱引きの結果で今年の収穫と商売を占うものです。

I purchased a medium-sized Futaba Dharma doll as shown above. The distinctive feature is a blue fringe around the face meaning the Pacific Ocean blue. This market once a year is the only chance to buy this special Dharma. Futaba Dharma dolls are manufactured at Watanabe dharma workshop in Shirakawa.
会場で、写真の中型の双葉ダルマを買いました。特徴は、顔の周りの青いフリンジで太平洋を意味します。この双葉ダルマは、年一度のこの双葉ダルマ市でしか買えません。双葉ダルマは、白河の渡辺だるま店で製造されます。


The venue of the market today was at the center of Nakoso-Sakai public reconstruction housing complex in Iwaki, where many of the evacuees from Futaba are now living. You can see some of those houses close to the venue in a picture above. Temporary Futaba town office is located close to JR Ueda Station. The town provided free shuttle bus service between the market venue and near the station. I used the service.
双葉ダルマ市の会場は、いわきの勿来酒井団地(復興公営団地)の中央広場です。双葉町からの避難者が多く生活しています。上の写真の向こうに、一部の住宅が見えます。双葉町役場のいわき事務所は、JR植田駅そばにあります。ここから会場までの無料シャトルバスが運行され、私も利用しました。

Today, I visited Futaba Town where Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant is located, and where a part of the town area was lifted the evacuation order in this March as a special reconstruction hub zone. I took JR Joban Line to Futaba Station aboard a limited super express train “Hitachi”. Transportation was restored as far as train is concerned. Picture above was another super express train bound for Iwaki arrived at the station just 20 minutes later.
本日は、双葉町に行きました。双葉町は、福島第一原発が立地し避難解除が今年の3月にやっと一部の復興拠点で始まりました。常磐線の特急ひたちに乗り、双葉駅で降りました。鉄道は復旧しており、20分後には写真のいわき行き上りの特急も到着しました。


Right next to the station building, I found a new rest space opened as shown above. This part was under construction when I visited here this March. Tables, chairs, and free coffee were available.
駅舎に隣接し、写真の新しい休憩スペースもオープンしていました。今年3月に来たときは工事中でしたが、テーブルやイス、コーヒーも飲めるようになっています。




My final goal today was Nuclear Disaster Memorial Museum which just opened to public this September 20th, but I stopped at several places along the way. A free bike sharing system has been introduced in the area. Photos above were of a bike park at Futaba Station, and a bike I used. You first deposit 100-yen coin to unlock the bike and the coin is returned when you park the bike at the next park. Currently, there is no public bus service in the area. So, bike sharing is so popular that there was none when I came to the bike park, but in the meantime a bike came back and I was lucky to have one.
本日の最終目的地は、9月20日にオープンした「東日本大震災・原子力災害伝承館」ですが、行く途中にいくつか寄りました。バスなど公共交通が未だ無いので、町では「シェアサイクル」と呼ぶフリーのチャリが用意されています。写真は、双葉駅前のポートと実際に借りたチャリです。100円玉を入れるとロックが外れ、次のポートに戻すと100円が戻ります。人気で、最初駅では全て出払っていましたが、すぐに1台戻り使えました。（チャリは、ギア無しのママチャリでした。）


Carefully riding the bike, I first stopped at Shohatsu Shrine located close to Futaba station. The local shrine was heavily damaged by the earthquake 9.5 years ago, but because of the long evacuation period due to the nuclear accident the reconstruction work was largely delayed. Today it seemed to be almost completed as shown above.
注意して乗りながら、最初は駅からすぐの初発神社（相馬妙見宮）に行きました。大震災で壊れ、原発の長期避難のため修理が大きく遅れましたが、本日は写真のように大分修復されていました。


Then I headed to the next stop which was a memorial for local victims located on the roadside of national route 6 as shown above. This was built by Futaba Town in 2013, 2 years after the disaster.
次は、国道6号脇に設置されている写真の慰霊碑です。震災2年後の2013年に、双葉町が犠牲者のために建てたものです。（この付近は、歩行もチャリも現在可能になっています。）


The next stop was F-BICC, or Futaba Business Incubation and Community Center as shown above. This is a new business and community facility of the town, which opens tomorrow. I parked the bike at this station and walked to the adjacent Memorial Museum building.
次は、写真の「双葉町産業交流センター」（略してF-BICC、エフビック）です。双葉町が建設したもので、ビジネスと町民交流スペース、飲食店などが入り、明日10月1日オープンです。すぐ隣が伝承館で、その中間にシェアサイクルのポートもあります。




Photo shown at the top was the Pacific Ocean view from the 3rd story observatory space of the Memorial Museum, which was shown in the bottom. A new memorial park is also under construction in front. The construction is being delayed due to the corona virus pandemic. Inside the exhibition floor, photos and videos are not allowed. All the visitors are at first introduced into a 7-screen theater. After 5-minute prologue we were guided to the upper exhibition floor. All kinds of 3.11 disaster data and information, rather focused on nuclear plant accident, were on display, most of which were familiar to me.
上の写真は、伝承館（下の写真）の3階の展望スペースから太平洋を眺めたもので、手前に復興祈念公園の建設現場も見えます。工事は、コロナで遅れているようです。館内展示室内は、撮影禁止です。お客は、まず1階入口の7面シアターに案内されます。約5分のプロローグ映像を見た後、2階の展示室に誘導されます。ここには、東日本大震災の多くのデータ・現物、特に原子力災害を重点に展示されています。

The reconstruction hub zone of Futaba Town, including the Memorial Museum, F-BICC, and the memorial park will keep on changing and evolving in the days ahead and will play a key role until the final lifting of all the evacuation order for the rest of the town area.
双葉町の避難解除開始は最後になりましたが、復興拠点区域には、伝承館、F-BICC、復興祈念公園を始めこれから順次姿を変えながら発展し、避難区域の全解除に向かい中心的役割を担っていくと思われます。
