Autumn colors along Nishiazuma Sky Valley Road, Oct. 16, 2015 （西吾妻 スカイバレー の 紅葉、２０１５年１０月１６日）
Today I pedaled along Nishiazuma Sky Valley Road. This road winds through western slope of Azuma Mountain Range from Lake Hibara to Shirabu Pass which is the border between Yamagata and Fukushima Pref. Autumn leaves showed marvelous colors today.
本日は、西吾妻 スカイバレー を走りました。この道路は、桧原湖の北から、吾妻連峰の西斜面を走り、山形県との境の、白布峠に行きます。紅葉が素晴らしかったです。

I first pedaled along the shoreline of Lake Hibara. It showed beautiful view this morning as shown above.
最初は、桧原湖 沿いに進み、今朝の桧原湖の景色は、写真のようにきれいでした。
Leaving Lake Hibara from its northern area, I pedaled along Nishiazuma Sky Valley Road toward Shirabu Pass.
桧原湖から離れた後は、白布峠に向かい、西吾妻スカイバレーを登ります。

This road showed magnificent autumn colors along the way today as shown above.

At one of the viewpoints called Tohachiyama-Nanamagari, a magnificent colored slope came into my eyes as shown above.
東鉢山七曲り（とうはちやまななまがり）という、展望場所から、山の斜面の美しい紅葉が見れます。
Shirabu Pass is the highest point on the road and its altitude is about 1420m above sea level. It is the border between Fukushima and Yamagata Pref. as shown above.
白布峠は、標高、約１４２０ｍの、福島県と山形県の境界に位置します。

Amazing autumn color at Jododaira part 2 and Noji Hot Spring, Oct. 6, 2015 （浄土平の 紅葉 その２ と 野地温泉 ２０１５年１０月６日）
Today, I pedaled my bike and visited Jododaira again following yesterday.
本日、昨日に続き再度、浄土平に行きました。

When I approached Jododaira, amazing yellow colored wood appeared as shown above.
浄土平に近づくと、写真のように、山の斜面に、すばらしい紅葉が広がります。

Then I parked my bike at the entrance into Okenuma Pond which was a popular viewpoint at Jododaira. A view from the observatory is shown above.
まず、浄土平では定番のスポットである、桶沼（おけぬま）に行きました。写真は、本日の景色です。

On the way down from Okenuma Pond, I found spectacular scenery on the slope and foot of Mt. Horai as shown in the pictures above.
桶沼からの下り道で、蓬莱山のスロープに広がる、写真のような絶景が見れました。
Then I started to climb along the trail toward Kamanuma Pond. At first I could see splendid autumn colors on a hill across the Skyline road as shown above.
その後、鎌沼への登山道沿いに歩き、最初、スカイラインの向こうの丘の、見事な紅葉を見ました。

Then, halfway on the trail, magnificent view of Mt. Azumakofuji with autumn leaves in front came into my eyes as shown above.
更に行くと、吾妻小富士と前景の紅葉が、後ろのほうに、見えてきます。

Leaving Jododaira, I returned to Tsuchiyu Pass hot spring site. Noji Onsen (=hot spring) Hotel is located on the foot of Mt. Kimen (1482m) which is at the north end of Adatara Mountain Range. Picture above shows the back of the hotel building is covered by autumn colors on the slope. The hotel provides its own superb quality sulfur hot spring baths.
最後は、浄土平を後にし、土湯峠温泉郷の１つ、野地温泉に戻ります。ここは、安達太良連峰北端の鬼面山（きめんざん）の麓にあり、写真のように斜面の紅葉が宿の裏手に迫ってきます。ここも、敷地内から出る、極上の硫黄泉があります。

Amazing autumn color at Jododaira and Makukawa Hot Spring, Oct. 5, 2015 （浄土平 の 紅葉 と 幕川温泉 ２０１５年１０月５日）
Today, I first visited Makutaki trail and then pedaled up to Jododaira Height which is located 1600m above sea level and which was the main goal on this trip.
本日は、幕滝遊歩道に寄ってから、今回の旅の目的地の、標高１６００ｍの浄土平に行きました。

Makutaki trail starts from Makukawa Onsen (=Hot Spring) which is one of the Tsuchiyu Pass Hot Springs and is located about 4km north of Tsuchiyu Pass.
幕滝遊歩道は、土湯峠温泉郷の１つの幕川温泉に始点があります。幕川温泉は、土湯峠から４ｋｍ程入った山奥にあります。
I pedaled through the narrow but paved road to Makukawa Onsen. Autumn leaves were getting red and yellow as shown above.
幕川温泉までの道は、狭いですが、舗装されています。途中の道は、紅葉が進んでいました。
At the end of the road there was a sign board which showed a map of Makutaki trail. I walked along the trail for a while and met with beautiful scenery of autumn leaves as shown above.
道の最後に、幕滝遊歩道の案内板があります。私は、遊歩道を散策し、写真のような紅葉に出会いました。（幕滝は、途中で道がわからなくなり、行けませんでした。）
After that I pedaled along Bandai-Azuma Skyline Road which goes winding through Azuma Mountain Range, and finally got to Jododaira height.
そのあと、磐梯吾妻スカイラインを通り、浄土平に行きます。

Autumn leaves were almost at their best along the road as shown in the pictures above.
道の紅葉は、写真のように素敵でした。（車がかなり多く、写真撮るのに時間かかります。）
At one of the parking lot near Jododaira I found mysterious scenery which all the trees behind cedar trees in front completely colored yellow as shown above.
浄土平近くの、兎平駐車場から、写真のような、不思議な光景を見ました。前面の杉の木の奥は、全て黄葉し、圧倒されます。
Approaching Jododaira a slope of Mt. AzumaKofuji partially colored red appeared as shown above.
浄土平に入ると、正面に吾妻小富士の斜面の、まだら紅葉が現れます。

Then when I looked back, a magnificent view of the foot of Mt. Higashiazuma all covered with autumn colors came into my eyes as shown above. This was really spectacular.
後ろを振り返ると、すごい光景が広がっていました。東吾妻山の麓が、写真のように、一面秋の色で覆われています。

帰りの道でも、写真のような、見事な紅葉が見れました。
Finally I returned to Makukawa Onsen in the late afternoon. I stayed at Mitoya Inn tonight. The inn is a member of Japan Association of Segregated Hot Spring Inns and has best quality sulfur spring of its own.
最後に、幕川温泉に戻り、今夜は、日本秘湯を守る会の水戸屋旅館に泊ります。硫黄泉です。

The inn had two open air baths, one in the second floor with nice view, and another in the wilderness outside as shown in the pictures above. The milky white colored spring water was welling up from right next spring source.
水戸屋は、２つの露天風呂があります。建物の２階にある、景色のよい風呂と、屋外の川沿いにある野天風呂です。野天風呂は、写真のように、すぐ隣の源泉からでてくる、乳白色のお湯が最高でした。
補足ですが、ここは携帯は圏外（ドコモ、ａｕ）です。しかし、福島県のＴＶが見れます。（土湯峠温泉郷の他の宿は、福島県のＴＶは入らず、宮城のＴＶになります。県庁所在地の福島市内ですが。）
